As you are interested in Growing Wasabi we thought we would give you a heads up about a Wasabi Growers Membership Website that the Wasabi Maestroes have just opened.
It consists of a number of individual modules within a course format going from Basic Wasabi Growing (100 level) to Wasabi Guru (600 level).
There are also a number of specialised courses. (700 level)
This is a paid membership site that operates as follows;
1. There is a membership fee per course. This starts at USD$97.00 per month and increases dependent on what course level module you are working on.
2. The stand-alone topics within the course structure are priced individually and can be purchased as required.
3. There are 20+ Specialist Topics that can be purchased independently of what course you are enrolled for.
4. There will be recorded Q&A sessions where you can ask questions about the course contents and get a better understanding of the subject.
5. There will be examination type questions for each topic to make sure you understand the material before moving on. See the message from the Wasabi Maestroes below.
There will be a limit of the number of people we can help in growing Wasabia japonica through the Wasabi Growers Club. While we would like to help everyone who asks, we are supposed to be retired and have no intention of wasting our time with people who don’t want to put the effort in.
We have to say again that growing Wasabi is not overly difficult so long as you understand what you are doing. If you can follow instructions and don’t want to reinvent the wheel without any experience under your belt, then this is the course for you.
If, however, you just want the growing information and do it all yourself with no help or input from us, then feel free to purchase the course materials and figure it all out for yourselves. We have no problem taking anyone’s money. LOL.
The course materials are copyright and licensed for your use only, so don’t even think of rewriting it and claiming it as yours. Our lawyers love that sort of thing.
The final thing is that even though we will have shown you how to grow Wasabia japonica, how you sell the final product is up to you. Because of that we always recommend that you find out if there is a market for your finished product (fresh or processed) before you start. We will even help you with the right questions to ask.
Now, if none of that has put you off then sign up today to become a member of the Wasabi Growers Club.
Jenny and Michel Van Mellaerts
The Wasabi Maestroes
Michel Van Mellaerts (The Wasabi Maestro) is the recognized World authority and expert on the practical Growing, Processing and Marketing of Wasabia japonica. He and his wife have been commercially growing Wasabia japonica longer than anyone else outside Japan.
Trained as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer he has invented and installed many improved growing systems into their farms. These enable high quality Wasabi to be grown anywhere in the World.
The Wasabi Maestroes have set up commercial Wasabi growing farms from the Arctic Circle to Southern New Zealand, including the Equator. They have worked with individual growers, national governments, and investment groups on four continents.
These growing systems have reduced growing times by nearly 67%, improved yield and quality of the Wasabi rhizome, and increased the levels of active ingredients by nearly 100%. It is these active ingredients that independent scientific studies show kills cancer cells and improves human health.
They pioneered the use of Wasabia japonica in the Nutraceutical and Medical industries. They are at the leading edge of research into the benefits of Wasabi on human and animal health.
The Wasabi Maestroes offer a Training and Consultancy service for potential and actual Wasabi growers who only want to learn from the best. Others spend their time floundering around trying to find out what information is useful and what isn’t.
The Training has been proven and improved over the last 20 years plus of personal commercial Wasabi growing. This has been hands on, getting wet and dirty work – not guesswork from behind a desk.
