Steak with Wasabi Orange Sauce

An unusual and very tasty dinner. Prepare overnight and come home from work to a beautiful meal without too much work.

Ingredients (per person)

1 Tbsp dark brown sugar
1 Tbsp Namida® Wasabi Paste made from Namida® 100% Pure Wasabi Powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground ginger
1 Tbsp grated orange peel
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp olive oil
white pepper to taste
1 piece of steak, trimmed (use the steak you like – personally I prefer rump steak).
1/2 cup brown rice
Fresh green beans

Wasabi-Orange Sauce
1/4 cup lite soy sauce
zest and juice of 1 orange
1 Tbsp Namida® Wasabi Paste made from Namida® 100% Pure wasabi Powder
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp ground ginger

Method

  1. Combine ingredients from sugar through pepper.
  2. Spread over steak, cover and marinate overnight.
  3. Remove steak from fridge about an hour before grilling.
  4. About an hour before serving, start the Wasabi Orange sauce.
  5. Mix all ingredients, cover and set aside.
  6. Cook the brown rice. Cover and set aside.
  7. Steam the green beans.
  8. Grill or pan fry the steak as you like it.
  9. Remove from grill and let rest a few minutes.

Serve steak over brown rice and steamed fresh green beans with Wasabi Orange Sauce drizzled over the top.
