This is a very Simple Wasabi Butter.
This way of making Wasabi Butter is simple and straight forward. You can make a lot or a little dependent on whether you want to want to store some in the freezer for use later.
All that you need is some butter and some wasabi paste.
The butter can be salted or unsalted, whatever is your preference.
The wasabi paste can be made from grated fresh wasabi rhizome, or made from Namida 100% Pure Wasabi Powder (see instructions how to make it). If you really have to you can also used tubed or powdered Fake Wasabi (doesn’t turn out as nice though).

What to do to make this Simple Wasabi Butter
Prepare the wasabi butter by beating freshly made Wasabi Paste, around 1-2 teaspoons, into the softened butter.
Wrap in cling film, rolling tightly into a little barrel shape.
Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes, or freeze for 10 minutes, so that it is cold enough to slice.
What to use this Simple Wasabi Butter with.
This can be used as the butter in sandwiches or as the butter on top of a nice steak or add to mashed potatoes, or anywhere else that you might want to use butter. Amazing when used on fresh cooked sweet corn cob.
I haven’t tried this myself because I rarely bake or eat cakes, but I would think that it would work quite well in baking. Will someone let me know what it turns out like if they try using it in baking. 🙂
This method is so simple that everyone should have some wasabi butter in their fridge or freezer to surprise their family or guests with at meal time.
Be careful with the amount of wasabi you add. Mixing it with butter retains the flavour and recognisable sinus clearing action so don’t go over the top straight away. 🙂
