This a marinated tuna meal cooked on a bamboo skewer. It can be done on a BBQ or in a pan. Lovely as an appetiser, with a bottle or two around the BBQ or even as main course. Just adjust the quantities accordingly.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Mayonnaise*
- 4 tsp Soy Sauce (use the one you prefer)
- 1.5 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp Namida® 100% Pure Wasabi powder*
- 1 tsp cold water*
- 375 gms (12 ozs) Tuna steaks, cut into 20 25mm (1 inch) cubes
- 10 Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- Cooking oil

Mix the Namida® 100% Pure Wasabi Powder and cold water together make a thick paste. Cover and set aside for 5 minutes.

In a bowl stir together mayonnaise, soy sauce, sugar, and lemon juice.

Transfer 2/3 cup soy mayonnaise to a small bowl and stir in the wasabi paste. Cover and chill in refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour. Can be chilled for up to a day.

Stir tuna cubes carefully into remaining 1/3 cup of soy mayonnaise. Cover and chill in refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour. Can be chilled for up to a day.

Prepare the grill, BBQ or pan. Heat up to medium to high heat.

Thread 2 Tuna cubes onto each skewer and cook on your preferred cooker for approx 2-3 minutes on each side. Be careful not to burn it.

Serve immediately with the chilled wasabi mayonnaise.
